We are a family practice dental office, seeing folks from age 2 to 92 and older.
In answer to a frequently asked question; yes we do see children, in fact they’re often our favorite people. We feel that dental care is most effective when it is started in early childhood. The American Dental Association recommends that at age 6-12 months an initial dental exam and consultation be performed, allowing us to note any dental abnormalities that may be present. At age 2, we generally schedule what we call a “fun visit”. At this visit children get to ride in the dental chair, have their teeth counted, play with “Mr. Thirsty”, review proper home care, and get acquainted with the dental staff. If the time is right for the individual child, they may have their teeth cleaned or have dental x-rays taken. The highlight is a visit to the office treasure chest. Early fun visits are very important in establishing a positive image of dentistry and the dental team at a young age. If this is accomplished, children are very likely to not develop fear of the dentist and to enjoy a lifetime of dental care without emotional trauma.
We are pleased to offer a full range of general and cosmetic dental services for all ages. For an examination and consultation, contact us at your earliest convenience. You’ll be glad you did.
