Products We Recommend
Sonicare
Sonicare toothbrushes do an exceptional job at maintaining your healthy smile. The vibrating bristles and timer does the work for you. Dr. Brandon hasn't used any other toothbrush since he was a young child! We recommend electric toothbrushes to all of our patients, especially teenagers and those with challenges with manual dexterity.
Oral-B
Oral-B electric toothbrushes do an exceptional job at maintaining your healthy smile. The vibrating bristles and timer does the work for you. Oral-B brush heads are slightly smaller than Sonicare, so you may prefer one over the other. We recommend electric toothbrushes to all of our patients, especially teenagers and those with challenges with manual dexterity.
Floss, Floss Picks, and Superfloss
There are many types of floss, including flavored floss. If you like it, you use it, and it cleans efficiently between each tooth, then stick with what you're using! If you're wondering what we might recommend though, Oral-B has an excellent selection. Superfloss is great for flossing under your bridges. Alternatively, BridgeAid is what we use in the office for the needle-and-thread technique for bridge flossing.
WaterPik Water Flosser
Water flossers are an excellent adjucnt to traditional floss, reaching and cleansing between teeth. These are especially useful for patients with active gum disease as well as those with past gum disease in order to maintain healthy tooth support. If you are part of our periodontal maintenance therapy programs, your hygienist may recommend a water flosser, and can show you how to use it properly.
Xylitol gum and lozenges
These products help strengthen teeth and protect against cavity-causing bacteria. Xylitol discs, lozenges, and gum are a helpful tool for dry-mouth sufferers as they not only encourage saliva flow, but also prevent tooth decay.
Biotene dry mouth products
Biotene has a selection of products to help those suffering from dry mouth. If you suffer from dry mouth, see if there is a product from Biotene that you like (some may work better for you than others). Gum and lozenges can help too, but make sure it is sugar-free or uses Xylitol as the sweetener.
